In the previous article, we discusseed the roles and responsibilites of the practitioner. We explored how energy healers create containers for healing rather than doing the healing themselves. Now let's talk about the other essential half: your role as the client.

What's really interesting is that it's your deep wisdom that actually guides the session. Whatever is ready to be seen or worked on, the main driver of the session, has been in preparation way before you arrived. Your practitioner is essentially responding to what your energy is ready to release or shift.

This is the dance that happens between practitioner and client—stepping into and embracing the change that wants to take place. Let's look at what you can do to support this process.

Your Responsibilities as a Client

1. Be Open-Minded

In the Western world of science and medicine, energy healing often isn't taken seriously. And that's unfortunate—but things are changing. More people are opening up to these practices and exploring what healing can look like beyond the traditional model.

Some methods of energy healing might sound strange at first—and that's okay. In the beginning, I was skeptical too. I remember feeling like some things were just too "woo-woo" and that created judgment and resistance.

But what I found was that in seeking the answers I needed to heal and truly expand, that "woo-woo" stuff seemed to be the missing piece of the puzzle I needed to make sense of things.

Eventually, I learned that keeping an open mind while practicing discernment actually led me to places of peace, clarity, and self-awareness that I never could have imagined.

At the end of the day, you might ask, "Is this even real?"

And honestly, my response is: Does it matter?

If you're feeling more spacious... more grounded... more like yourself—if your life is improving in ways that are meaningful—do you really need to verify it through the current paradigm to trust its validity?

What matters most is your experience. Let that speak louder than the doubt. Because if you're feeling doubtful or having judgments about your practitioner or the modality itself, you could be blocking the very thing that sets you up for a healing experience.

2. Believe in Your Healing Capacity

Trust that you can heal. Trust that you can change—and that you're worthy of that change. You have to be at least open to the possibility that you're more than what you currently believe. If you can't open your heart to that, it's just another form of resistance. If you're resisting, it doesn't matter what your practitioner is doing—you're not going to meet the moment for a shift to take place.

Whether you know it or not, you already exist as an enlightened being. The healing process is simply about shedding the veils that prevent you from seeing and living as that truth. It's hard, I get it.

But one thing I can say is when the ball gets rolling, healing and expanding becomes addictive. The more you expand, and the better you feel, the more life starts aligning with your internal world, the more you want to see what else can happen... what else can change, what else you can achieve. Life actually starts to become fun.

Also, there have been amazing stories of people living through traumas so terrible, it's hard to imagine life afterwards. But somehow, they really embraced their capacity to heal and made it through to the other side and found their glow.

Everyone has the capacity to change their life if they make the effort to do so.

3. Inhabit Your Expansion

After experiencing significant healing, give yourself full permission to enjoy and embody this new version of yourself.

Too often, we become so focused on what still needs healing—the remaining trauma, pain, or patterns—that we forget to pause and fully inhabit the transformation that's already occurred. Constantly focusing only on what needs fixing is like focusing on lack, which contradicts the very reason you're doing this work.

Healing doesn't mean moving from one trauma to the next until you've "completed" all your work and can finally enjoy life. True integration happens when you embrace and fully step into the version of yourself that's emerging at every stage of the process.

Allow yourself to expand into and celebrate each shift, no matter how small. This embodiment of your growth is where lasting change takes root.

4. Understand the Healing Process

Healing and expansion represent a lifelong journey rather than a destination with a clear endpoint. This doesn't mean you'll need energy healing sessions forever, but rather that growth continues through many avenues throughout your life.

Healing happens through journaling, meditation, therapy, time in nature, quiet reflection, meaningful conversations, creative expression, and countless other experiences. Each element builds upon the others, creating momentum for larger shifts to occur.

When you make energy healing sessions part of this broader foundation of self-care and growth, you'll often find them particularly potent. This happens because you've already done substantial inner work, and the session provides the perfect container for releasing energy that's finally ready to move.

The process naturally includes reflection, stillness, breakthroughs, and yes, sometimes setbacks. There's no perfect timeline or linear progression. But every step you take, regardless of size, contributes to your unfolding. Every element of the journey matters.

5. Practice Patience with Yourself

Gentleness and patience with yourself are essential, even when progress feels frustratingly slow or when familiar patterns resurface.

Sometimes your conscious mind feels ready for change while your subconscious needs more time to process and release. Other times, your soul is prepared to leap forward before your mind can make sense of or even welcome the shift. Both scenarios are completely normal.

Life has its own way of creating situations that ultimately serve our growth, even when they feel challenging in the moment. Trust that healing unfolds in its own time and rhythm.

Be compassionate with yourself throughout this process. Everything will integrate and align when the timing is right.

The Co-Creative Dance

An energy healing session represents a beautiful co-creative process. Your practitioner holds space and creates optimal conditions while your inner wisdom rises to the surface, determining what's ready to be seen and released.

Your role is to meet these moments fully—saying yes to releasing old stories, attachments, and identities that no longer serve your highest good. This requires courage, trust, and a willingness to step into unknown versions of yourself.

Embracing Your Power

Understanding your central role in healing is profoundly empowering. You're not a passive recipient of someone else's abilities, but rather an active participant in your own transformation. Your practitioner serves as a skilled facilitator, but you hold the keys to your own healing.

This perspective transforms everything about how you approach energy work. Instead of hoping someone can "fix" you, you can engage as a conscious co-creator in your own evolution.

The wisdom for your healing already lives within you. Energy healing sessions simply provide focused opportunities to access and work with that wisdom in supportive, intentional ways.

When you fully embrace this understanding and step into these responsibilities, you'll discover that healing becomes not just a process of addressing problems, but a journey of remembering and becoming who you truly are.
